Topic: Incorrect display after replacing a component

Dear Support,
I had some parts in stock of a component no longer on the market and, having found an alternative, I decided to dispose of the first ones with a first Work Order. After creating it and taking the materials (i.e. after putting it in the "Issue" state), I replaced the component in the BOM with its alternative, creating a second Work Order and taking the components for this too.
Afterwards, by checking the files of the old and new component, the withdrawals take place in the correct way (both in quantity and in terms of recording in the "History" of the movements). But after the replacement, the new component appears in both Work Orders. However, I think that in the first one I should still display the old component, because in fact I used that to build the product, and not its alternative.
Thanks in advance

Once a part or an assembly has gone live - ie you have used it consumed it, sold it or anything else - then you shouldn't change the part number.
If a part becomes obsolete and you have a replacement part then you should create a new part or a revision so both old and new parts co-exist in your inventory. You can flag a part as obsolete so that it no longer appears in your inventory listing but will still appear in historic orders, BOMs etc.
